More Wonderful Email Entries

Hi everyone,

I have new email entries to share with you today.....

From Dawn R.

Thanks for setting such an interesting challenge this month - I wanted to recreate a classic fairytale scene but didn't have the appropriate stamps to depict Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel or Snow White!  Mum and I share a lovely stamp from Lavinia Stamps which always reminds me of the pumpkin carriage in Cinderella, but Mum beat me to it and she used this one for her entry, so  I had to think again.  I tried to remember all my favourite fairytales from my childhood - particularly those Tales from the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Andersen - but I couldn't think of anything that I could stamp.  A little more research was required!  I googled "fairy tales" and enjoyed reading a number of tales - and then I found The Gingerbread Man.  This might be possible!  I knew I had a small Gingerbread Man stamp in a Christmas set, and a Nursery Rhyme set from IndigoBlu which could provide the old woman who chases him.  I would have liked to have been able to add more characters to my scene, but I don't have any other stamps that would fit, so you must imagine that all the other characters that the Gingerbread Man meets on his travels are just around the corner!

Beautiful!!!

Have a great day!

Craft a Scene Fairy Tale Scene - Week 3

This month at Craft a Scene the theme is to make a "Fairy Tale" scene.  Our themes have always been realistic in nature but this month we will try something more whimsical. You can create a project with fairies or about a classic fairy tale.

You can jump to mr. linky but you would miss all the lovely inspiration!

We have a few email entries to share:

These two beauties are from Margaret in Yorshire - she wrote:
I have two cards for the challenge this month.  The first card was created using Lindsay Mason’s Personal Impression stamps for the fairies, the tree and the sentiment.  The little house is from Clarity stamps, and I named the card “Almost Home”.

The second card has stamps from various places.  The enchanted coach and horses is from Lavinia stamps, the trees are Clarity, the tiny fairies are  from Majestic secret Garden, and  I’m not sure where the lamp post and grasses came from.  I crated the reflection stamping onto the Gelli Plate, with the  coach and horses and the trees, and then placing card on to the gelli plate , and rubbing across to transfer the image in reverse.

I then added the sky and the water using adirondak inks, and a White gellyroll pen was used to give an illusion of movement in the water.  A 2-way glue pen and some silver Glamour dust completed  the card, and I thought this card should be named “You shall go to the Ball”.

Hope you like the cards. Love Margaret xxx

Craft a Scene Fairy Tale Scene - Week 2

This month at Craft a Scene the theme is make it a "Fairy Tale" scene.  All our scene makers must be on vacation or this is a more difficult challenge than I realized.  Feel free to let you fairy tale dreams come true and enter your favorite tale of a scene.

We want to see stamped or digi'd scenes with foreground and background images.  A fairy tale scene includes something to do with either the fairy tales we remember from our childhood or just fairies in general.  Please remember that you need background and foreground elements to your stamped image.
